Vision Statement
The Danville Public School Division will value the professional contributions of all employees to provide a challenging, exciting, personalized academic and social environment designed to produce responsible, creative and productive citizens in a changing global society.
Mission Statement
The Danville Public School Division will provide educational services of exceptional quality that meet or exceed the needs of each student to achieve exceptional success in life.

Goal I: The Danville Public Schools (DPS) will value the professional contributions of all employees. |

A: Recognize employee expertise by providing outlets for information sharing. |

B: Recognize employee expertise by acknowledging and rewarding contributions. |
|
Goal II: The Danville Public Schools will improve the level of student learning and achievement - Meet all federal and state expectations for student learning. |

|
A: All schools and the division will meet or exceed the No Child Left Behind Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals as based on the Virginia Standards of Learning Assessments. |
|
B: All schools with a graduating cohort and the division will meet or exceed the No Child Left Behind Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals for graduation. |
|
C: The division will continue to expand and enhance programs and credentialing pathways. |
Goal III: The Danville Public Schools will improve communication within the schools and with the community at large in order to maintain the trust, confidence, and support of taxpayers, community leaders, parents, employees, and the media. |

A: Utilize electronic, television, and print media comprehensively to provide timely, accurate, and pertinent information about Danville Public Schools. |

B: Provide communication to all stakeholders that is clear, timely, and accurate during all crises. |

C: Establish division-wide Standard Response Protocols using plain English that maximize communication in the event of a crisis. |
Goal IV: The DPS will provide a safe, caring, learning environment for students and staff. |

Goal V: The Danville Public Schools will actively engage parents, businesses, industries, civic leaders and organizations, colleges, and other members of our community to enhance student achievement. |

Goal VI: The Danville Public Schools will constantly strive to provide facilities that will offer the best possible physical environment to enable and facilitate learning and teaching. |

A: Maintain a comprehensive capital improvement plan that includes accurate, timely revenue requirements. |
Goal VII: The Danville Public Schools will improve the use of both instructional and administrative technology. |

A: Increase online access and services for students, parents, staff, School Board and the community. |

B: Increase the capacity of instructional staff to utilize software and hardware to improve teaching and learning. |
Goal VIII: The Danville Public Schools (DPS) will establish a set of knowledge, practices, and experiences as the basis for employee development. |

A: DPS will have a workforce composed of 100% high performing staff. |

B: DPS will have a Succession Plan that is designed to facilitate the replacement of employees as they retire or leave the division for other reasons. |
