Mock Interview Day Held at ACEC

The Adult & Career Education Center hosted a Mock Interview Day to give students a hands-on experience in the interviewing process. Eligible students completed requirements for participation and were matched with an interviewer from a local business. These students attended job readiness workshops designed to prepare them to interview successfully in a wide variety of career choices. Workshops included writing a resume and cover letter, do's and don’ts of interviewing, how to dress to impress and the importance of making a good first impression.

Each student chose a career field and was matched with a current job advertisement in that field. They researched the company’s history and the types of products and services offered. They also completed a resume and cover letter indicating their desire for this job. Area business and community leaders conducted the interviews and provided useful feedback to participants on ways to improve.

Interviewers included Christy Oakes, Branch Manager with Adecco Employment Services and Barry Richmond, Employment Specialist with Good will industries. Congratulations to all the ACEC Students who participated!
