Bonner Prepares to Celebrate Constitution Day

Constitution Day will be observed on Friday, September 17, 2010, and Bonner is ready to celebrate!  Morning announcements will take place over the intercom September 8-17 which will address the Constitutional Convention, the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, the principles of separation of powers and checks and balances. Other topics to be covered include Article I (Legislative branch), Article II (Executive branch), Article III (Judicial branch), and the Bill of Rights. These announcements will be made by teachers and students.

Visuals such as posters, pictures, and diagrams, will be posted in the cafeteria to match the topics covered by the morning announcements. These displays will remain posted through the month of September. Mrs. Sadler, the Bonner librarian, has two display areas in the library with books available for check-out that cover topics related to Constitution Day.

Students are being asked to wear red, white, and blue on Constitution Day. Students will also have to memorize the Preamble to the Constitution. The school will also be decorated with red, white, and blue balloons to help celebrate the day.
