Students Work on Projects

Two sixth grade classes at O. T. Bonner Middle School are currently working on special projects and assignments. First, Mrs. Melissa Winant’s Language Arts students are working on Black History poems to be hung throughout the school building during the month of February. Students have to conduct their own research before writing the poems about famous African-Americans. Then, they will use the information to write poetry using the figurative language elements they have learned in class. All Bonner students will be able to enjoy the poems as they travel throughout the hallways.
Students are also busy in Mrs. Michele Walcott’s classroom as they complete projects on Fresh Water Awareness in science class. Each student must build a filter and model of how a river is formed. Next, students must make a tri-fold containing information on both filtration and water systems. The projects will conclude after students make presentations to their classmates.
