Bonner Band Performs at the Danville Mall Grand Opening

Under the direction of Bonner’s Band Director, Mrs. Katie Mitchell, forty members of the eighth grade band performed at the Grand Opening Ceremony of the new Danville Mall on Friday, November 15th.

All of the students who traveled to the mall for this event wore their Bonner band polo shirts with pride as they played three selections. The Bonner band opened the ceremony with The Star Spangled Banner. After the ribbon was cut, the band played America, the Beautiful and March Militaire for the audience.

The Danville Mall was grateful to the band students and provided each student with free pizza and a drink from Ruffino’s Pizza after the performance.

Mr. Smith, one of Bonner’s assistant principals, served as a chaperone for this trip. Mr. Smith said, “Our students were well-received by the Danville community. Positive comments were received pertaining to their demeanor and musicianship. I am very proud of my eighth grade band.”

Congratulations to the eighth grade band students and Mrs. Katie Mitchell on an awesome performace!
