Egg Drop Activity

Ms. Broadnax and Mrs. Snead’s classes participate in an egg drop experiment. They

were given cotton balls, egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, straws, and grocery bags.

Their objective was to see if they could create a container that could be dropped

from the top of the playground equipment and not break the egg inside. The

students were divided into 22 teams of 2. On their first attempt 13 teams were

successful. After making some adjustments to their containers four more teams

were able to drop their eggs and they did not break. Overall it was a successful

experience, and the students had a great time doing it.
