Parent's Day Out and Honoring Veterans

On Monday, November 12th, Glenwood held its annual Title I event, Parents’ Day Out from 8:30-10:00 a.m. and included refreshments and visits to classrooms followed by a special program to honor our veterans. Each grade showed it’s gratitude for our veterans through songs, poems, etc. while students, faculty, and staff wore red, white, or blue to show support. American Legion Post 29 was present for the honor ceremony and spoke to the students. The men from American Legion, Post 29 spent time teaching a few 4th and 5th grade boys how to properly and respectfully fold the American flag. As the boys demonstrated folding the flag for the entire student body, Principal, Mrs. Adams, read a description about each fold and its meaning.

Many parents attended Parents’ Day Out. This is a very special event for the students because they love showing how much they are learning!
