GLH Johnson Elementary School

Book Fair 2012

Parents, students, teachers, grandparents, great grandparents, family members and friends
all came to support G.L.H. Johnson’s annual book fair. Speaking of annual, Mr. Walter Gunn has volunteered to work the cash register for seven years straight. Ms. Rachel Franklin, first-grade teacher, supplied bags, bags and bags for the many purchases. As they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” The pictures below are examples of how much parents stress reading being a priority in the lives of their children.

“The monies from the book fair help to purchase instructional materials geared toward making
our students competitive for the 21st century”, said Gail Gunn, Johnson’s media specialist. It is a win-win situation.

Above picture: PTA president, Mr. J.D. Edmunds, and PTA-fundraiser winners kicked off Johnson’s 2012 Scholastic book fair. As part of their winnings, money was given towards the purchase of books.
