Turtle Time
During our October Intersession, fifth grade students learned about turtles. Herman is the newest addition to our Schoolfield family of classroom pets. The fifth graders also read books about Mzee and Owen, a young, orphaned hippopotamus that was adopted and cared for by a 150 year old tortoise after a tsunami devasted their home.
Students created a life-size Mzee and decorated the shell with facts and information they have learned.
