Pink Out!

On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, W. W. Moore observed Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The event was sponsored by Coach David Lee, Health/Physical Education Instructor. Coach Lee encouraged all teachers and staff to wear pink to show their support for those who may have suffered from breast cancer or lost a loved one due to the illness. During health class, Coach Lee stressed the importance of regular medical checkups and self-examinations. He emphasized the fact that many people have survived breast cancer because of early detection. Being informed at a young age can help students take a more proactive role in their own health and wellness.

To further emphasize breast cancer awareness, the teachers and staff participated in a Pink Power Walk from 8:05-8:20 a.m. The day proved to be a success as teachers, staff, and students joined together to promote breast cancer awareness.
