September Character Education

Character education is a strong component of our program because it fosters the development of learners who are responsible and productive citizens. Character education improves behavior, promotes academic success and impacts educational out-comes. Each month we highlight a specific character trait. Responsibility was the character trait highlighted for September. Mr. Rick Blackstock, Post– D Coordinator for W. W. Moore Public Schools, spoke to the students about the importance of taking responsibility for their actions. He gave concrete examples of what being responsible looks like. The students were engaged in a lively discussion as Mr. Blackstock shared various stories with them. The students enjoyed their time with Mr. Blackstock.
