AFA Teacher of the Year

     Mrs. Melinda Wallace has been selected as the Air Force Association Chapter 240 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Wallace currently teaches seventh and eighth grade physical science and life science in the academically gifted program at O. T. Bonner Middle School. As a recipient of this award, Mrs. Wallace is recognized for achievements in exciting K-12 students about science and math. She prepares students to both use and contribute to the technologies of tomorrow.
Mrs. Wallace leads the way in implementing and aligning the new Standards of Learning in the area of science at the middle school level. She works tirelessly to lead her colleagues in monthly share sessions held across the division. She always has innovative ideas to impact instruction across the curriculum.

      As this year’s AFA Chapter Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Wallace was presented with a cash award, a certificate of excellence, an AFA tote bag, and a complimentary Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education membership (sponsored by the Civil Air Patrol). Mrs. Wallace was presented her award on Monday, May 20th at Bonner Middle School.
