Eighth Grade Washington Field Trip

Mrs. Harvey’s seventh grade U. S. History students recently completed decades projects. Students were divided into teams for this assignment. Each team was given four class periods to research the decade of their choice (the ‘50s-‘90s). Students were required to cite five sources, including two book references on background demographics, historical importance, fads, fashions, music, art, architecture, medical advances, Supreme Court rulings, and political figures.

Then, the teams of students taught class for about 25 minutes each. The presentations included multimedia presentations, decorations, class activities, and appropriate dress for the decade. Of course, students loved the dress up part! This activity helped students bring the decades to life.
