Music in the Round 2013

     O. T. Bonner Middle School students, parents, faculty, and staff had a special treat on Wednesday, November 27th. The annual holiday concert called Music in the Round was presented at 9:00 a.m. in the Bonner Commons. Students were seated on the floor and on the steps of the Commons as the Bonner bands, orchestra, and chorus performed.
Bonner’s eighth grade band opened with Santa Meets Sousa, which was followed by the chorus singing Deck the Halls. The Orchestra then played Believe. Next, the sixth grade band performed St. Nick’s on the Housetop, the chorus sang Twelve Days of Christmas, and the seventh grade band played Sleigh Ride.

Additionally, the chorus sang Jingle Bells, Silver Bells, Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bell Rock, and Back to December. A few members of the chorus also sang solos throughout the concert. Students in grades six through eight sang in the chorus. Congratulations to Ms. Ferguson and her chorus students for the beautiful music they sang!

The Bonner orchestra also played Good King Wencelas, Ding Dong Merrily on High, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Somewhere in My Memory, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Congratulations to Mrs. Griffin and her orchestra students on an awesome musical performance!

The seventh grade percussion ensemble performed Can-Can, and the seventh grade band played Christmas Concerto #3. Gingerbread Men on Parade was performed by the sixth grade band, and then the band played Jingle Bell Rock. Two students, Marcus Deshazor and Korey Hall, performed band percussion solos to the delight of the entire audience. Congratulations to Mrs. Mitchell and the band students for their wonderful winter performance!

The Bonner family thoroughly enjoyed the holiday musical selections. This was a special event for the entire school.
