Forest Hills

Unexpected Visitor

Forest Hills has prepared for Halloween by inviting a special guest to lunch. Well, almost. Students and staff were recently excited to find a tiny nocturnal visitor hanging out in the school lunchroom. Ms. Lassiter, the school Principal, took full advantage of the opportunity to allow the students a first-hand study of the bat. Facts concerning the sleeping, feeding and nesting habits of the bat were discussed as students calmly ate their lunch. Meanwhile, the bat slept soundly while firmly clutching the cafeteria window blind. This experience was not only educational, but added greatly to the Halloween spirit in the building.

The bat was gently removed by one of our parents and placed in a nearby tree where he is happily hanging and continuing to sleep.
