Heart Heroes

The physical education department at Forest Hills Elementary provided a Jump Rope for Heart event Friday, March 14th to raise money for the American Heart Association. In an effort to fight against our nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers — cardiovascular diseases and stroke, students raised a total of $3958.65. The money raised will help fund potentially lifesaving research, support programs that help people in our community, and help provide physical education equipment for Forest Hills. All participants received a refreshing bottle of water provided by the Get Fit Dan River Region Foundation.

Forest Hills had over 200 hundred participants in this event. Students enjoyed jumping rope, dancing, listening to their favorite music, and chatting with their friends. Besides being fun, Jump Rope for Heart teaches jump rope skills, the importance of physical activity, and community service.

Ms. Boyd would like to thank all “Heart Heroes” for the hard work put forth into making this year’s Jump Rope for Heart a big success!!
