Art Provides a Sense of Accomplishment

The students have enjoyed their art classes this year. Ms. Sylvia Foster, Artist-In-Residence, has taught the students about various art designs such as kaleidoscopes, half portraits, oil and chalk pastel drawings, one point perspective drawings, etc. The students looked forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays when Ms. Foster provided art instruction. Throughout the year student work was displayed in the hallways. It gave the students a sense of pride and accomplishment when they saw their work on display. One student commented, “Art helps us to be creative and express our feelings by using drawings instead of words.”
