Earthquake Drill

At 10:17 a.m. on October 17, 2013, the students at W. W. Moore joined millions of students in the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill. The objective of the drill was to provide students with the opportunity to practice how to protect themselves in the event of an earthquake. The drill consisted of three major steps. “Drop, Cover, and Hold on.” Prior to the drill Mr. Decker, science teacher, reviewed information about earthquakes and how catastrophic they can be. He also had the students create a list of items they would need for a “Survival Kit.” Mr. Decker actually demonstrated for the students what they needed to do during the drill.
