Fall Carnival

On Friday, October 28, 2011, Westwood Middle School welcomed a few hundred parents, guests, and students to its Fall Festival. Tickets were sold at the door and used as admission for the different events which included fortune telling, a cakewalk, face painting, basketball, dancing, a giant slide, and a haunted science lab. Popcorn and cotton candy were also available for a ticket while hotdogs, drinks, and homemade caramel chocolate apples were sold to whet our guests’ appetites. In addition, a raffle was held for products that had been donated by Westwood’s faculty. These prizes included bags from Thirty One Gifts, Avon products, Mary Kay facial care, a beautifully hand-painted breast cancer awareness pumpkin, and a set of three centerpiece candles. The students were also eligible to win a prize for best costume which went to a seventh grade grim reaper. By the time the affair ended at 7:00PM, people were eagerly anticipating the next festival.
