Probability Activities

Ms. Baynes' sixth grade math students completed a variety of hands-on activities to explore probability of independent and dependent events. The first activity students completed was M&M probability; in this activity, students used a small bag of M&Ms to find the probability of single events. Next, students completed an Independent and Dependent Event sort with partners. The final activity was a station activity that included many real life objects; students found the probability of independent and dependent events with and without replacement.
